Agriculture in Austria - information

Despite being a small percentage of Austria's workforce and accounting for only tiny pieces of its GDP, the Chamber of Agriculture maintains an important position in society.

The share agriculture’s economic contribution declined steadily after World War II but it still remains relevant because despite these numbers they produce social significance with their political status at par to other chambers such as commerce or labor while producing very little by comparison- which makes them special indeed!

Austria's small farmers are at the heart of this country’s cultural landscape. For example, organic farms have seen a significant increase in numbers from about 100 to over 21K during recent decades because they can compete within Europe on quality rather than quantity alone with their smaller size and specialization for produce grown without pesticides or herbicides that preserve natural resources like biodiversity - all while providing an income outside farming itself!

Austria is a country that produces a lot of food. The main types are field crops, meat and dairy products with animal husbandry playing an important role too- most importantly large scale farming for lowland areas only which makes up about 1/3rd or so but also more intensive forms like forestry in mountainous regions to take advantage of mountain pasturage when possible .

The diverse landscape of Austria offers a natural paradise for all who come to visit. The country's rich soils and verdant meadows have attracted farmers from around the world, creating countless specialty dishes with its produce or one ingredient among many others in processed food mass produced elsewhere throughout Europe at large factories like those found near Wiener Neustadt where they make fast-food favorites such as sausages & doughnuts! Alongside these delicious items are other local delicacies specific only to Austrians which can be enjoyed while enjoying anOktoberfest beer on any given Saturday afternoon - namely Käsespätzle (cheese noodles) made fresh right before your eyes following centuries old tradition handed down orally.

More than 280,000 enterprises with an average of twenty three hectares each characterize Austria's agriculture and forestry sectors. There are 4500 corporate farms that account for 64% (or more) in comparison to smaller sized properties; these small-scale farmers often work part time or on a seasonal basis due their lack thereof resources such as land available which has led them into becoming “mini” tyoesiaresidents rather then full time residents like before when farming was more lucrative.
